Doug wins inter region event !

John Rose to the Left with Doug Davison to the right

The weather was a challenge starting with a frost, then a cold wind, rain, red hot sunshine & then hail, sleet, & a thunder storm followed by a flat calm & sunshine as the event finished :-?
14 anglers fished representing 4 regions: RA21/89, RA104, RA95, & RA56. The fishing was slow with 10 blanks.

The weights were as follows:

RA 56: 1 angler & a nil return  RA 95: 2 anglers & 1 pike for 3lb 8oz ;) RA 104: 1 angler & 1 pike for 9lb 6oz :P RA21/89 10 anglers & 3 pike for 29lb 5oz :ymparty:

The overall individual winner was RA21/89's Doug Davison with a fine brace of 9lb 14oz & 14lb 7oz and he was duly presented with the charity shield by Hulls RO John Rose. Ian Oxley also caught a 5lb jack for our regional total & runners up for their regions were RA104's Jon Vaile, & RA95's Clive Melhuish with Scunthorpe’s Paul Walker returning a nil return in last place.
A total of £90 was raised for Diabetes UK, a large chunk of it from Airport Parking Market :ymapplause: Maureen Jordan is the widow of Billy Jordan who was delighted when we told her we would name the trophy the William Jordan Memorial Trophy.

Inter Region Charity Event -Osprey Lake Brough Complex 23rd March

The Inter region event is now confirmed with Hull. Entry is £5.00 to fish everyone is welcome. Its a great complex and well protected from predators. Here's Andy with his first upper double a 19lb fish from the venue a few years back.

Speakers go from strength to Strength!

Just wanted to say that we are now getting some great local speakers as well as our revered visitors. We've now had people honing their skills such as myself Darron Nixon, Scott Williams, Andy Eland our treasurer and our Very own ultra competitive Mr Shane Patterson. Its given a few people the courage to come forward and everyone is different and interesting. Some of us such as Shane are now starting to Travel to other regions to do talks too. So you really don't need to be an expert and it is a good laugh. If you fancy having a go let me or one of the committee know and we'll do all we can to help. In the mean time a big thanks to to all those that have given it a go!

Hard Lads the Scots!

Big thanks to Brian Marshall!

Big thanks to Brian Marshall who visited our region to give his very first talk. Brian impressed us all by his knowledge of fishing and demonstrating his sheer dedication to the sport by showing us pictures of beautiful scenery, big fish and spells of horrendous weather. All the lads enjoyed the talk and we even had visitors from our sister regions north of us. Brian really emphasised the importance of homework on big waters and taking notes was essential to avoid countless blanks on big Lochs. Really appreciate the effort Brian thanks again from all the lads at 21/89

AGM -No changes

Just to let everyone know there are no changes in the region with Shane Patterson remaining RO Darron Nixon as Assisstant RO and Andy Eland undertaking the role of Treasurer and Membership Secretary. There are a lack of volunteers and if anyone is interested in becoming more involved there will be a role made available. Lots of things were discussed including more talks etc and we are now trying to encourage more local speakers due to the cost and difficulty of attracting speakers at a cost affordable to the region.
In Memoriam to Peter Green a big friend to region 21/89
It was really sad to hear of the passing of Peter last week. Peter was a big friend to the region and always made time to speak to

people who needed help and advice with their pike fishing. Peter had spoken and visited our region many times and will be a big loss

to us all. Peter was inspirational with his selfless charity work and rarely spoke ill of anyone.

Our sincere thoughts and condolences go out to his widow Linda and his Son Mark the President of the PAC. I'm sure Mark was a great

source of pride to Peter and really pleased that Peter got to attend the conference and see Mark in the chair as it were.
